It is difficult to express how changed and improved our lives are after Petey attended Activate’s Essential program in February 2025. Petey is a spirited, high intensity German shepherd dog. As experienced GSD owners, we were exercising Petey mentally and physically but were unequipped to get him to settle down and could not redirect his mouthy tendencies.
After training with Alicia and crew, Petey is more focused and mannered without losing his endearing goofy personality. The “place” command has been invaluable and has helped bring calm and structure to our home. Now we all have the training and tools to help us succeed. My only regret is not enrolling Petey sooner.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alicia and Activate Canine Dog Training. If you’re looking for someone who will train your dog while also loving them, choose Activate and you won’t have any regrets. We sent our three month old goldendoodle to Alicia for about 4 weeks and he came back the same sweet, loving boy but so incredibly well behaved. We have two young kids and Alicia went above and beyond having our puppy around her kids to make sure he would learn how to behave around not only adults and other dogs but kids as well which was so important to us. I was so overwhelmed when she picked him up and now I feel grateful and excited having him back home. Before making our decision, I spoke with at least 5 other dog training companies and know without a doubt I chose the best one. Thank you so much Alicia and the Activate team!
Activate Canine Dog Training is awesome! We love the owner/ trainer. Alicia came to our home and picked up our little rascal and when she brought him home he was a changed fellow! Our boy is a Corgi/Chihuahua mixed breed who found us and we took him in. He is a very small fellow more Corgi than Chihuahua 2 inch legs and that wide body. He was 7 pounds overweight when Alicia picked him up and she put him on a weight management program and he is down three pounds. We love Alicia! She recommended a doggy treadmill and came back out to our house to show us how to use it! She guarantees her training. We couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend them!
Alicia and Activate Dog Training did incredible work with our one year old German shepherd. We were promised improvement with basic manners and behavior which is exactly what we got. Our puppy came home with a strong skill set in sit, down, boundaries, heel, and place. Alicia ensured we were updated with pictures and progress throughout his stay, and answered all questions we had during the process. We feel well educated and prepared to keep his skills up due to Alicia’s follow up and handler training. Our pup loves to work and we are thankful for Alicia for giving us the skills and structure to keep him fulfilled and happy.
Highly, highly recommend these lovely trainers! My dog went for 4 weeks and came back a new man. He learned to listen, stay in his place, heel, walk on a loose leash and overall is a much better behaved guy. This is one of the most affordable board and train facilities and I would not take my dogs anywhere else. They even come to your house for follow up lessons and keep in touch for support. 10/10 recommend!!!
We got Vander as a rescue 2 months ago. We found out shortly after bringing him home that he had an aggression (or fierce curiosity) for cats. We were also frustrated with him jumping on us and leash pulling. After reaching out and speaking with Alicia, we had hopeful optimism that she could help. Within a few weeks under her guidance, tah dah!!! Vander will now allow our cat to rub and sniff him and he gets better ever day! The sit, place and heel commands are also fantastic tools for us to use with him...no more leash pulling or jumping on us!! Alicia also kept us updated and sent pictures and videos of his progress. We can't thank Alicia and her team enough for helping Vander fit into our family!!
